Our individual therapists can work with you to find a way to let go of old outdated diet plans by identifying your unique hunger/fullness cues, find a way of eating that best honors your body (and allows room for all foods!).

Many adolescents and young adults with Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa benefit from a Family Based Treatment Approach (FBT). FBT involves the entire family working with the therapist to take charge of re-feeding their child and working toward health. The process begins with a parent in charge approach and works with the patient and family to transition to independence as recovery from disordered eating occurs.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is considered the treatment of choice for adult eating disorders and is often combined with other treatment modalities. CBT focuses on the core beliefs, feelings and behaviors that maintain the eating disorder such as fear of weight gain, impaired body image and faulty beliefs about food. CBT also addresses personality characteristics that can reinforce the eating disorder. Many tools and techniques will be used to address faulty cognitions and develop healthier and more flexible beliefs about food, eating and body image. In addition to CBT, our therapists also integrate aspects mindfulness, meditation, mindful self-compassion, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and intuitive eating into their work.
